Sight words: First 100 word list and free training game
Lately, to complement phonics practices, I have consolidated a list of sight words and games to help my kids familiarize with the list and hasten their reading progress. You are most welcome to download this free template with the sight words list and games to enjoy some quality bonding time with the little ones.
Recognizing Sight words could be a complement to phonics practices, and provides children a better start to reading and writing.
I have also enclosed a listing of the first 100 over sight words, as well as a sample sight words game which you maybe interested to download and have some fun with your kids.
Simply print out the first table listing of Sight words, and help your child to memorize the spelling and word.
Follow the instructions to print out and cut out the game stars and card game table.
Apply the instructions to start the game running once your child is familiar with all the Sight words enclosed. You may also vary the game play according to your preference.

What are Sight words?
Sight words are high frequency words that may not be pictured or sounded out, such as if, I, am, you, we, are, his. These are some most commonly used words which in our daily readings and conversations. If you do a web search of sight words, you will be able to find consolidations of up to thousands of words in a listing, but for a start, we usually compile and impart an estimate of 100 over words, and eventually build a bigger vocabulary when the children are familiarized with the initial list.Why do children need to recognize Sight words?
As sight words may cover up to a high percentage of early children's reading and writing materials, it would be advantages to kids whom are able to recognize these words quickly and automatically before they even embark on their reading practices.Recognizing Sight words could be a complement to phonics practices, and provides children a better start to reading and writing.
