encourage question bottle

Noelle:  Mummy! Can orange ever be salty?
Mummy:  Perhaps not. I am not sure.
Noelle: Can I drop a note into Dr. Know?
Mummy: Of cos!

Since the last sharing on reasons kids stop askings, we started a project within the family! Or rather, a new channel of asking questions.

Dr. Know:

Everyone can choose to drop a note into a little bottle, with questions they may have but has not gotten answers. Whenever someone is free, we could pick any note and “Accept the challenge” to find the answers. Answers could either be in the form of a script, powerpoint slides, or a verbal explanation.

We would share our findings in a short gathering before bed or when everyone is available to listen.

Pros of Dr. Know:

This would not only sparks interest in asking questions, but also for everyone to learn as a family.
It would also help build a child’s ability to remember facts, and present what they have learnt.

Why don’t you start your own little knowledge bottle and share with us your experience?
