Supplementary Book Review: Commonly used phrases in Chinese Composition(作文常用惯用语)
During the last semester holiday, we were browsing around some of the major bookshops and "adopted" some gems to bring back to our revision library.
We were so happy to adopted and would like to share this book "作文常用惯用语". As the title stated, this book covers the commonly or frequently used phrases similar to idioms in the English world. Some of such commonly used phrases includes, "不管三七二十一" and "开夜车".
The book breaks the topic into two segment for every phrase, with the first segment introducing the phrase in short interesting comic format. The phrase is further reiterated later in subsequent segments using short reading text passages.
I do have to mention, that some of the phrases may not be too common or familiar in our context, however, we should be able to pick out a handful that are useful and can easily be incorporated into the children's daily conversations and essay writing.
In addition, it would be even more effective if short exercises could be added at the end of each segment for practice purposes.
This book should be available in most major bookstores.
