Dinosaur exhibition - Titans of the Past

During the December 2013 school holiday, we brought the kids to the Titans of the Past dinosaur exhibition. It was a learning exhibition opening an alternative perception to some of the theories of behavior of some of the dinosaur species.

Titans of the Past focused on exhibiting various stages of growth of various species of dinosaurs and for some, an alternative theory of findings and theories.

There are many beautiful and valueable real fossils exhibits, inclusive of the largest T-rex bones ever found.

Upon entering the exhibition hall, we were greeted by an extensive display of triceratops head skulls
walking us through the different stages of transformations and growth.

We learnt that rather than the original perception that the crown was part of their armor of defences, there are veins on the surface layer spanned over the crown and changes colors as the dinosaur's mood changes. Their crown will display faint reddish tones when they experience anxiety.

Another exhibit that caught our attraction is non other than the majestic tyrants of the dino world, the Tyrannosaurus, otherwise known as T-rex.

The kids were fascinated by the movements displayed by the giant T-rex gnawing through a huge bone, versus the tiny week chewing of the baby T-rex just next to it and the sounds they made.

Apart from the amazing exhibits, there are also various play areas and craft corners that kids could spend hours exercising their creativity.

There is even a sandpit area that the little ones could  take turns entering and brushing away sands to uncover the hidden giant dinosaur bones.

This was indeed an eye opening exhibition with a very focused theme well worth visiting for both the young and old.

In this same exhibition and play area, we were also awe struck by a gigantic showcase of the life sized Argentinosaurus skeletal cast. Check out the panoramic view of this display below.

We look forward to another dinosaur exhibition and will share on a review after our trip to Dawn to Extinction.

Have fun!
