Family trip to Lotus Desaru Beach Resort.
During March school holiday, we drove over to Lotus Desaru Beach Resort for a short getaway, and it was one of the most unforgettable vacation for the kids.
It was an estimated 4 hour slow drive from Singapore, and we were thankful for a very fine weather along the way.
We reached the resort during noon, an was so delighted that we could check in earlier, even though we were told check in time was about 2.30pm.
We booked a two room family suite, though the resort and furnishings are slightly old, the suites are tidy and sufficiently furnished with a decent pantry and wash area. However, the hotel should have been more generous with the toiletries provided, as we were only given two sets of shampoo and shower gel though there were 5 of us checking in. In addition, tooth pastes were not provided as part of the toiletries.
This resort is a chalet concept resort, and is full of fun filled activities for entire family, young to old. There are loads of night party games and activities within the resort compound, especially on weekends. There are group dancing and games in the open field compound, and even fireworks for all hotel guests.
For children, there is even an art and craft corner and some arcade and table games.
There resort also boasts of a water park which stretches across several blocks of suite rooms, thus it's easily accessible by each of the hotel guests suites.
The kids simply adore the exciting water slides, which stretches across the water park, with 3 mini pool stops. As well as the water play ground and the huge tipping coconut splash playground.
We also spent an entire afternoon relaxing and soaking in the calming sea breeze, for Singaporeans, a clean empty vast sea view is a gem to the eye.
The kids had great fun collecting cute casuarinas and catching hermit crabs.
The beach sands are not as fine as some of those of Bintan, but are decently clean for kids to play.
There are also other attractions within short driving distances from the resort, such as the fruit and vegetable farm, as well as Ostrich and Crocodile farm. There is even two fireflies night cruises nearby.
For non drivers, resort guests can also make bookings with the resort for necessary arrangements.
