More about phonics - Consonant blends flash cards

This is a further introduction on Consonant blends.

In my earlier post, I shared that Consonants are alphabet sounds in a letter, but this does not include the alphabets that are part of the vowels.

In this posting, I am covering consonant pairs whereby this are pairing of two or more consonant words that that commonly encountered and making a blending sound. Most of these pairings forms the beginning of words that we frequently encounter, such as "cr", "bl".

Consonant blends, quite unlike Consonant digraphs (Which will be covered in later postings), makes individual consonant sounds even when blended together. Such as "blue" where "b" and "l" phonics are made and blended.

I have enclosed a set of simple Consonant blends flash card templates that you may download and share with your little ones. This should work as an add on to the Consonant in my earlier posting.

You are most welcome to leave a comment or message for any further inputs.

Hope this helps.
