Why shouldn't milk be consume alone for breakfast?

I read a book with my children lately and came across a very interesting topic, and thought it would be a good piece of knowledge to share, especially to mummies.

Many of us consume milk for breakfast, and for many children it's perhaps the first wake up beverage. However, there is an article in a Chinese Children enclyopedia that explains the nutrients of milk will not be best absorbed if consumed without other food in the morning. The reason is because, after many hours of empty stomach while sleeping, the body is empty from any food stuffs to burn energy. In this case, milk once consumed, will be burnt as energy source, rather then retaining it's nutrients and used as good calcium and protein sources. However, if it is consumed together with bread, or any other food during breakfast, the milk nutrients will be better absorbed otherwise.
