Making a Baby Boy or Baby Girl?
In some of Asian tradition, having a boy is preferred so as to continue the family name tree. Though most parents would probably prefer to conceive both boys and girls, not many would be able to fulfill their dreams. However, there are some interesting information that I chance upon from web, brochures and books that some might find useful. Of course, no one could guarantee success as this also depends very much on individual’s body condition and reaction to different diet.
Understanding our body system:
The sperms
First of all, we know that sperms are basically made up of X chromosomes that makes a girl and Y chromosomes that makes a boy. Understanding the nature of these chromosomes first sets the stage for the man and woman’s preparation of the body, days and pattern of baby making.
I would relate the lifespan of the chromosomes closely to the lifespan of the different gender. The X chromosomes are just like women. Typically an average girl would run slower than the boys but generally woman out live man. Similarly, the X chromosomes swims slower, but are tougher and is able to survive longer than the Y chromosomes, even better able to withstand the acidic virginal environment.
To conceive a boy:
- Woman’s diet should comprise food that reduces pH of their tract. Reduce meat intake, but have more regular meals (Especially breakfast), as well as food rich in potassium. (Of course this needs to be taken in moderation, avoid over consumption but maintain a balance so as not to ruin our natural balance). For man, a cup of coffee just before intercourse could also give the Y sperms a jolt. (Again not advisable for man that needs to abstain from caffeine medically.)
- Man should avoid wearing tight pants, as this kills of the sperms, especially the more vulnerable Y chromosomes.
- Plan intercourse as close if not on the ovulation date, as this would allow ensure higher chances of the weaker Y chromosomes survival and penetration to the egg.
- Allow deeper penetration during intercourse, as cervical fluid is more conducive for the Y chromosomes sperm, also higher chances the sperm will be able to race to the egg faster than the X chromosomes.
- Lastly, woman would need to reach orgasm before the man, as this adds alkaline secretions to the vaginal and thus more conducive for the Y chromosomes survival, as well as help carrying them to the egg.
To conceive a girl: Just reverse some of the pointers listed above.
Lastly, zinc helps make the outer layer and tail of the sperm, thus intake of zinc in our diet would also help both the man and woman increase fertility. (Again this should be taken in moderation).
